The Biggest Misconception About Jihad

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Dear Brothers and sisters in ISLAM,

Assalaamu alaikum waramathullahi wabarakaathuhu. And love & peace to all fellow humans (non-muslims) reading this blog.

Let me make one thing clear before I type anything further. This blog is sincerely dedicated to the entire umma(people) of Allah's beloved prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Specially to those brothers and/or sisters, who think becoming a "suicide bomber" and blowing tens or hundreds of fellow humans along with themselves is a part of "JIHAD".

This blog is also an eye-opener to all fellow humans (non-muslims) "that all Muslims are not Terrorists" and "all Terrorists are not Muslims". In fact, there is no such thing called "Terrorism" in ISLAM. After reading this blog it should, Insha-Allah (if Almighty Allah wills) be clear that suicide bombing is certainly not a part of "Jihad."

Please read carefully as the following are the verses from the Holy Qur'an (Almighty Allah's words)

Sura'h Nisaa (4:92) : Never should a Believer kill a Believer ; but (if it so happens) by
mistake, (compensation is due) : if one (so) kills a Believer, it is ordained
that he should free a believing slave, and pay compensation to the
deceased's family, unless they remit it freely. If the deceased belonged to
a people at war with you, and he was a Believer, the freeing of a believing
slave (is enough). If he belonged to a people with whom ye have a treaty
of mutual alliance, compensation should be paid to his family, and a
believing slave be freed. For those who find this beyond their means, (is
prescribed) a fast for two months running : by way of repentance to
Allah : for Allah hath all knowledge and wisdom.

(4:93) : If a man kills a Believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, to abide
therein (for ever) : and the wrath and the curse of Allah are upon him,
and a dreadful penalty is prepared for him.

Now, let me first bring out the fact that "there is no war - modern or historic; islamic or non-islamic - that allows killing of women and children." There is no one on Earth who will deny this fact. So, in short, blowing yourself in public places and killing women and children is not just un-islamic but clearly inhuman. And one cannot be a muslim unless he is a human. Right?

Now, with this clear in mind let us look closely into verse 92:

"Never should a Believer kill a Believer" - Never, ever, can a believer (muslim) kill another muslim. It's an order from the Lord. Mentioned in his Book.

; but (if it so happens) by mistake, (compensation is due)........till the end of the verse - Allah continues to mention the rulings for the compensation to be paid (or practiced) by the killer only
if it (the killing) happens by mistake.

Now, let us ask these questions to all those who are taught to go and kill people openly in public by scattering their bodies in pieces all over the place -
1. Have you ever read this verse?
2. If you have and want to compensate for those you are going to kill, will you be alive to do
so? - for its an order from The Lord!
3. What about Women and Children? Are you sure there aren't any when you commit the
deadly act?

If you think you have an answer for all of the above questions, just look at the very next verse, verse 92:

"If a man kills a Believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, to abide therein (for ever) : and the wrath and the curse of Allah are upon him, and a dreadful penalty is prepared for him."

"Believer" here is general - Man or Women; Girl or Boy - Now come the questions again -

1. Allah has ordered not to kill Women and Children in war. Leave alone JIHAD. Can you
guarantee you will not do so when you commit the act?
2. Now, what if, god forbid, there are muslim brothers among the people who get killed?
3. Won't you be sure that there will be muslims around that place, bus, train, building...?

I am sure, there will be many who will simply say something like this - "the muslims who get killed in the explosion are also martyrs in Allah's way", "We have to give the sacrifice of a few muslims to kill the oppressors" - You know you are covering your wrongest deeds with these words.

So, brothers and sisters, for Allah's sake, stop killing fellow humans who are innocent. If you think you are being oppressed by someone, Jihad is farz (obligatory) only on the oppressor, not his family. So, if you think, there is no way but fighting, go fight the oppressor. Go, kill the oppressor (only if need be) for the sake of Allah. Not innocent people!!!

I urge all muslims to read the Holy Qur'an in their own language, understand it, and pass on the message and orders of Almighty Allah to everyone possible. And help those - who are committing these bloody acts blindly or by believing the words of people who have half knowledge about ISLAM and especially Jihad - to open their eyes and hearts to the true commands and knowledge sent by Almighty Allah.

"Half knowledge is always more dangerous than no knowledge"

Remember, one spark can cause fire. So, think that its time to cause a spark in the muslim community. A spark for the good cause. A spark that would bring "light", not "fire!"

May Allah accept our good deeds, forgive our sins and select us to be the people who are on the right path, "the people of Jann'a (Paradise)". Aameen...
